My darling husband bought me a Yarn of the Month Club subscription from Darn Good Yarn for my birthday, and I thought y'all might like to take a peek inside with me, so here I am back with another little yarn club unboxing! I kept this one a little more simple with just a single camera (because editing, y'all, yikes) but it was good to get my feet wet again! I definitely have more official tutorials I want to film, but I'm also enjoying the informal ones (NO editing, yay!) I've been doing for my students and followers over on Patreon.
But before I get chatting about other things, let's have a look at what's in the box, shall we?
This box, as I understand it, is the same box they send for all first time subscribers, and I really think it would make a great gift for someone who is interested in learning how to knit or crochet. It even comes with a pair of needles and a hook to make one of the two patterns that are included with the yarn!
The yarn included here is their Worsted Weight Silk Roving in Watercolors. Isn't it vibrant!? At only 50 grams and 75 yards, it's only enough yarn for a small piece, so I'll probably save it for a larger project using future club shipment yarns, but we'll see! Based on some of the projects I've seen of this colorway on the yarn's Ravelry page, I suspect that it *may* be dyed in a way that would allow planned color pooling, but I haven't unraveled it to see yet.
All in all, I think this was a fun little first box! I probably won't use the needles or hook beyond just testing them out for curiosity's sake because I'm pretty sure I've already found my favorite hooks and needles! But I'm excited to see what's in the next shipment and to learn more about this company.
Have you tried Darn Good Yarn before? What would you make with this colorful little cake of yarn? I'd love to hear your thoughts, too!
